Brief History
-
More than twenty years ago, in June 1986, Granny Goose Nursery School was born. The Chinese Filipino preschool’s first home was a spacious, two-storey house in the sleepy neighborhood of M. Cuenco St, cor. D. Tuazon St, Quezon City. In the beginning, Granny Goose had 17 students, two main teachers, and two assistants. At the time when preschools in Manila were generally traditional in their approach, “little” Granny Goose used the progressive developmental approach in educating children. For years, parents have questioned and challenged the effectiveness of this modern approach, and for years, Granny Goose has stood its ground and patiently explained to the parents the truth — that this approach successfully promotes developmental appropriate learning for very young children!
Today, “little” Granny Goose is located in a school building at 78 Sgt. E. Rivera Street, Quezon City and is known as Early Achievers’ Learning Center (the literal translation of the Chinese name: You Cong Yuan 幼聰園) and has expanded to other branches in prime locations around Metro Manila, all of which bring the same high standard of education to children. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, playgrounds and various updated educational materials. Besides overseeing the developmentally appropriate education of children, EALC continuously trains its growing number of young, vibrant, and caring teachers through seminars and early childhood courses in U.P. and Ateneo.

The journey of EALC is far from over. It will continue to expand in order to provide quality progressive education in various communities and levels.
Furthermore, EALC has organized many parenting seminars to help parents better understand and care for their young achievers. In June 2009, EALC has extended its commitment to child-centered education by launching Elementary Grade levels in addition to its nursery and kindergarten classes. The EALC Grade school uses a U.S. curriculum that promotes the individual development of each child and ensures his mastery of skills and concepts; quite different from the popular methods used in the big schools today. EALC will not stop there as it aspires to open High-school levels in the near future. EALC has also been offering supplementary programs in Math and English for pre-school to high-school children called E.nopi since 2005. It takes learning on a child’s eye-level in order to achieve self-motivation, independence, and proactive learning methods to develop mathematical and English language skills. The journey of EALC is far from over. It will continue to expand in order to provide quality progressive education in various communities and levels.

We have been educating children for over fifteen years. Our goal is to create a place that engages each child.
-

She willingly and actively listens to a child and is sensitive to his developmental needs.
-
A teacher is a classroom manager. She provides an environment conducive to learning by drawing out a child’s talent and stimulating his creativity. She is responsive to child-initiated activities. She is resourceful and creative. She designs materials that aid in effective teaching. Most of all, she ensures the safety of the child in the school.
A teacher works in partnership with parents in bringing about the optimal development of the child. She respects parents’ opinions and are sensitive to their needs. She strikes a balance between her expertise in educating children and parents’ invaluable knowledge about their child’s personality and individuality.
