History Nineteen years ago, in June 1986, Granny Goose Nursery School was born. The Chinese-
Filipino preschool's first home was a spacious, two-storey house in
the sleepy neighborhood of M. Cuenco Street, corner D. Tuazon Street,
Quezon City. In the beginning, Granny Goose had 17 students, two main
teachers, two assistants. At the time when preschools in Manila were generally traditional in their approach, "little" Granny Goose used the progressive developmental approach to educating children. For years, parents have questioned and challenged the effectiveness of this modern approach. And for years, Granny Goose has stood its ground and patiently explained to the parents the truth -- that it successfully educates very young children! Today, "little" Granny Goose is located in a school building at 78 Sgt. E. Rivera Street,
Quezon City and is known as Early Achievers' Learning Center (named
after the distinctively achieving character of its school directress,
Mrs. Norma O. Ching, who had achieved so much and gone so far in the
field of education). EALC has air-conditioned classrooms with various
child-centered up-to-date educational materials, and a huge activity
center and auditorium. EALC currently oversees the developmentally
appropriate education of many Chinese-Filipino children. EALC
continuously trains its growing number of young, vibrant, and caring
teachers through seminars and early childhood courses in U.P. and
Ateneo. Futhermore, EALC has organized many parenting seminars to
help parents better understand and care for their young achievers.Currently, EALC has four more branches in prime locations (Bel-Air, Binondo, Congressional and Green Meadows) in Metro Manila, all of which bring the same high standard of education to children. The new and improved child-friendly playground, the additional computer facilities, and the E-nopi Learning Program in the schools are just a few testament to the school's continuing commitment to educational development. In its commitment to provide quality progressive education in various communities, the EALC Family is still expanding. |
