The Child "...Most of our graduates are not only in the top ten in various schools, but are considered more sociable, more adjusted, more confident, more independent, and more enthusiastic to learn." -- Teacher Carol, English Program Coordinator
What do we believe is the Child?Who is the Child? How does a child learn? A child interacts with people around him by expressing his wants, feelings and emotions. He is dependent on the constant nurturing of affection, acceptance and understanding by the significant persons around him. With the right amount of support, a sense of security grows within him and he gains courage to fully discover the wonderful surprises in his environment. Along the way, he also stumbles and meets his limitations but grabs every opportunity to reach his potentials. The EALC child goes through the different stages of development at his own pace, thinks by hands-on learning and exploration and has feelings that must be valued. A child has boundless energy A child is never at one place at a time. By the use of his senses, he eagerly manipulates, explores and experiments on his environment through imaginative and creative play.
A child is an active member of a social group The EALC child is a social being who is assertive yet is beginning to learn to share, cooperate and be sensitive to his playmates' feelings and wants. What is our goal for the child? We aim to develop a child's intellectual, socio-emotional and physical skills. We endeavor to develop a child who is a creative thinker, is disciplined, self-confident, independent and cooperative and physically fit. |
